Degrees and Programs

At KPCA NWPTS, we offer carefully designed study programs to prepare students for careers in ministry, theology, and biblical studies. Our programs combine rigorous academic instruction with practical training, providing a solid foundation for both spiritual and professional growth.

Bachelor of Biblical Studies

BBS provides a well-rounded, rigorous program that prepares students for further academic study and to be thoughtful leaders in the contexts to which they are called.  It is designed to bring students to a sound working knowledge of the Word of God, so that they may share those life-transforming principles in a variety of contexts. General education provides learning experiences to enhance and complement the academic majors and provide for the student an integrated Christian world view. A general education supplies an understanding and awareness of broad areas of language, history, philosophy, communication, science, and human development. These are the essential complements to Biblical studies in shaping godly attitudes and behavior in our contemporary world.

Master of Divinity

KPCA NWPTS MDiv degree is designed to form you as a leader with a serving and loving leadership in a pastoral and related ministry. At the MDiv level, KPCA NWPTS seeks to develop: • Christian commitment displayed in active discipleship and participation in Christ’s redemptive mission to the nations. • Highly advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies for one’s chosen profession, which enable graduates to practice and teach others in that field. • A highly advanced theological framework for exercising one’s profession as a servant of Christ. • An advanced expertise in a specialized discipline,

Objective of the Bachelor of Biblical Studies:

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies program aims to:

  1. Provide a comprehensive understanding of the Bible, theology, and Christian history.
  2. Develop critical thinking and analytical skills in theology.
  3. Prepare students for various ministry roles through practical and theoretical training.
  4. Encourage personal spiritual growth.
  5. Lay a foundation for further theological studies and career advancement in religious and educational settings.


Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree Requirements:

  1. Total Credit Hours: Minimum of 180 credit hours.
  2. Core Courses: Completion of key courses such as Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Biblical Interpretation, Systematic Theology, Church History, and Christian Ethics.
  3. Elective Courses: Selection of electives in areas like Biblical Languages, Pastoral Counseling, Homiletics, Missions and Evangelism, and Spiritual Formation.
  4. Practical Ministry Experience: Participation in internships or practicum experiences.
  5. Capstone Project: Completion of a capstone project or thesis.
  6. GPA Requirement: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  7. Residency Requirement: Fulfillment of any on-campus or approved distance learning credit hours.
  8. Spiritual and Community Life: Active participation in the spiritual and community activities of KPCA NWPTS.

    Admission Requirements for the Bachelor of Biblical Studies:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent

     

    COURSE WORKS :

    45 quarter hours of General Education
    45 quarter hours of Bible/Theology Education
    45 quarter hours of Concentrated Courses
    45 quarter hours of Electives

Master of Divinity Program Objective:

The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program aims to:

  1. Prepare students for effective leadership in ministry and church settings.
  2. Develop a deep understanding of theology, Scripture, and church history.
  3. Enhance skills in pastoral care, preaching, and counseling.
  4. Provide practical ministry experience through internships and field education.
  5. Foster personal spiritual growth and integrate faith with learning.
  6. Support scholarly research through capstone projects or theses.

 

Master of Divinity Degree Requirements:

  1. Total Credit Hours: Minimum of 72 credit hours.
  2. Core Courses: Completion of essential courses in Biblical Exegesis, Systematic Theology, Pastoral Care, and others.
  3. Concentration Courses: Fulfillment of requirements for a chosen concentration.
  4. Elective Courses: Selection of additional elective courses.
  5. Practical Experience: Completion of internships or field education.
  6. Capstone Project or Thesis: Final project or thesis demonstrating applied knowledge.
  7. GPA Requirement: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  8. Residency Requirement: Fulfillment of any on-campus requirements.

A Bachelor degree required
